Quick, yummy, portable, high-protein taste-tester approved breakfast?  Yes please!!

If I could only use one recipe for smoothies for the rest of life, this would be THE ONE!
It fits my criteria for an Elevate worthy recipe - healthy, adaptable, tasty, few ingredients and easy to whip up! 
I made one this morning and I loved it so much, I saved it and took it to my favorite reputable taste tester. 
It’s super portable- I used a small mason jar - so this is a great recipe to make and grab on your way out the door for work or school, or shuttling kids.
The taste tester thought some people might like it sweeter, so if that’s you, then you could always add your choice of sweetener (suggestions below!) I put it in the freezer for about 45 minutes and it turned to a sort of slushy, spoonable consistency which made it more like a desert than breakfast! (Healthy desert for breakfast - what’s not to love!!)

Here’s the basic recipe from Shannon Acheson at homemadelovely.com, with some optional add-ins, as well as suggestions for natural sweeteners if you need them.

3 ingredient Banana Berry Smoothie

Ingredients - 
*1/2 banana
*1 Cup frozen berries of your choice
*1/2 Cup unsweetened almond milk (I use Califia Farms unsweetened)

Place all ingredients in a blender, and mix until smooth.

Sweetener choices:
Stevia powder or syrup
Agave syrup
Pure maple syrup

Optional add-ins:
Chia Seeds
Ground flax seeds
Protein powder (I use 1 scoop of strawberry Garden of Life Organic Plant-based Protein powder that provides 15 grams of protein and no additional sugar.)
